Child Safety

Child safe standards

St. Malachy's School is a Child Safe School. We have a zero tolerance stance on child abuse and are committed to the protection of all children from all forms of abuse.
St. Malachy's School holds the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility.  We are committed to providing our students with a safe, supportive and enriching environment to develop spiritually, physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.

All students enrolled at St. Malachy's School, and any children visiting, have a right to feel safe and be safe.

The School staff, volunteers, and external contractors are expected to actively contribute to a school culture that respects the dignity of its members and affirms the Gospel values of love, care for others, compassion and justice.  They are required to observe child safe principles and expectations for appropriate behaviour towards and in the company of children.

The School’s Child Protection Team is responsible for ensuring that all members of the school community follow child safety standards.  The Child Safety Officer will respond to any complaints made by staff, volunteers, parents or students in relation to child safety.
